96. The acceleration of dates is necessary, otherwise ignorance becomes solidified. Devotion carries over the abyss, but the palpitation of sensitiveness must give wings to this devotion. 97. On the path do not rest under a rotting tree. The extinguished consciousness is an actual vampire, to be avoided. There is a degree of extinction at which the abyss is not to be flooded with new energy. Tremor of cosmos manifests the pulsation of awakened consciousness. 98. Those who enter Community are obliged to change hourly their armor. Not only mobility and quick awareness but the changing of weapons is needed. Beside the feeling of ownership stands habit, and it is difficult to replace addiction to objects by adaptability. How necessary for leaders to consciously understand this distinction of concept! It is impossible for poisoned consciousness to distinguish moments of freedom and bondage. The basis of community lies in freedom of thought and in reverence for the Guru. To accept the Guru means to fall in line with the workers fighting the fire. If everyone rushes to the fire from the wellspring without any order, the wellspring is trampled without benefit. Definitely the Guru, insight and world evolution serve as paths to the higher realms. 99. Alien thinking does not wish to move forward. Remember the secret--don't despair. Impetuous striving unfolds, likewise the volcanic eruption and the Teaching--saturating space even without visible disciples. This book is like a ship before the tempest, when each sail and rope come to life. Know how to respect secrecy. 100. Understand that without the Teaching one cannot get along. One should become accustomed to the fact that the sending itself can appear negligible, for only its inner meaning has significance. 101. Egotistical thinking attracts the lower strata of matter for this form of thinking isolates the organism, even as a single magnet cannot attract more than its own intensity allows. Broadened thought is like a group of magnets. Community is arrived at in clarity of thinking. 102. In educating children it is better to turn the attention simply to the more useful and more attractive. Firmly remember that true science is always appealing, concise, precise and beautiful. Infinity must be sensed by the young eye. One must expel falsehood, coarseness and mockery. The most wretched person can find the current to infinity, for each quality labor opens the locks. 103. Schools must be strongholds of learning in all fullness. Each school must be a living link among all schools. The art of thinking must be developed in each striver, then he will grasp the joy of perfectionment and will apply himself. 104-5. Without paths of beauty there can be no education. Only persuasion and experiment suitably stimulate learning. What joy in applying one's forces! 106. Things can be considered from the standpoint of love. Each must be made a participant in the happy life. Cooperation helps find a way for each household. 107. Thru books heroes, creators and workers are depicted; the concepts of honor, duty in one's circle of life, and mercy are affirmed. 108-9. The teacher is guiding tutor, pointing out a more essential path. Where treason seeps in to places of renewal, then severe judgment is called forth. Schools determine where is laziness, unusual character, madness, and needful understanding. 110-1. There is no construction without cooperation. The heart lives in self-abnegation. 112. It is most useful to be able to combine love's tenderness with austere duty. New life gives not yoked compulsion but gives broad harmony. It also cannot be forgot that people can gnaw each other in two. 113. Cupidity is coarse ignorance, from which only true cooperation saves. A greedy man has a stamp on his face, is not concerned with the heart, and his cup is bitter. 114. By examples from the plant and animal kingdoms one may fathom what treasures are contained in man. If comparatively lower organisms sense fundamentals of existence, then the more must man apply effort for progression. Let pupils rejoice from the start at life's wonders. 116. Shield children from everything false, guard against worthless music, protect them against obscenity, false competitions and self-indulgence. It is necessary to inculcate a love for incessant learning. 117. Labor is the crown of light, since prana regenerates in light and consciousness is made steadfast thereby. 118. The time has come when it is possible only to go forward and to preserve the cry of purpose, in an incessant run, not in lingering over the precipice. Realization of potential provides impetus. Each electron of potential gives power. 120. The Guru guarantees, knows and cares for the conservation of energy. The general who guards carefully his troops acts wisely. Each potential is life's warrior, in larger view. Let a consciousness of world evolution help to find the proper arrows. Let the resolute not be deceived. How wrong is slovenliness in a creative person, how pernicious is ill-considered reaction, how inexcusable is error! 121. Even a worm sets no limits to his passageway--you, looking into infinity, cannot be content to resemble the worm. Starting with self-improvement one proceeds toward infinity, not emulating by habit the female foot of China in self-limitation. Childish materialism has proved to be narcotic, but enlightened thought is a ladder of victory. 122. Shackled science causes great damage. The only key to pre-eminence in the domains of knowledge is greater directness and attractiveness. The pedant thrusts away each one who does not prove to have an untalented, cold attitude to beauty. Around the community must be inspiration. Proceed by the path of immutability--as plants reach toward light--and build life! Life absorbs each thought, therefore be realists of true life. 123. Friends, matter is no manure but substance radiant with potential. 124. To approach the Teaching one must discover and cleanse consciousness from the first. 125. These seeds of cooperative thought will give you perseverance to attain. Resolve and persevere. 126. It is needful to safeguard those who run risks for the hastening of progress. One may be very fond of beautiful parables but forget that in each of them is contained the cost of a life. Strive to improve your gatherings.
