I, x. 1. To create a potent wave it suffices to have faith in the indications. Carry inmost the conception from Us. I am sending joy--manifest attention and calmness--convulsions will cease. 4. My Eye--your light; My Hand--your defense; My Heart--your anchor. One love sustains the thread of purpose. 5. Forward flies the shot, there is no turning back. 7. Dark the times, hold firmly the Shield. 8. Show a firm pace. Guard the heart, because a vessel containing the whole world must be cautiously borne. 9. As sparks create ozone, so spiritual work weaves assistance. Open a window and help flies in.

I, xi. 3. For all I enjoin courage. Even a dove should become a lion. 5. I will bestow on each according to his merit. Be satisfied with the flow of wondrous benevolence. 7. I avow that every one and everything is tested. Who will fearlessly rise to Us? 8. We can offer a thread but you must sharpen the needle. Walk the loftiest path. The sail should be snow-white. 9. Sparkle with youthful spirit. Be most young and supple. The sail of achievement is most lasting. 10. Only exultation of spirit enables one to cross the radiant bridge. I sow tokens, gather them resourcefully.

I, xii. 1-2. Let the flame of faith shine freely. Buddha's law is of much help on the way of Knowledge. Smile at the nonsense. 3-4. Let one consider the Word immutable. Strike upon a table and the objects vibrate.

II, i. 1. In love forge the affirmation of the Heights in the ability to control oneself. When one approaches the commandments of Christ and Buddha, what is the dust of the threshold? 2. Display speed. Spilled seeds are difficult to gather. 3. As a gardener sows that the garden be covered with buds, uprooting weeds, so We watch the movements of the chosen hands. Joyous is each resourcefulness--the shield is forged on both sides. Broad My Work, to everyone a place ordained. By the broadness of your vision will you allot your own part. Give Us reason to rejoice! 4. It is well to be in the sunshine, starlight absorbing harmony into the nerves. The magnetism of the moon is great but for repose not good. While resting it is good to laugh, for the thyroid is thus purified. To purify the glands is a primary duty. 5. Shambhala is the indispensible site on the Earth of utmost attraction. 6. Superstition can be driven out only by respecting the innate forces of man. 7. For access to spirit matter must be melted. In smelting a specific gas is released into spirit. In man a gas emanates from nerve centers at each peak of happiness and sorrow. Each somnolent existence is death of spirit. Molten matter yields to improvement and provides new formulae. Upon ecstatic fire travels Our Ray, seeking heart admittance. Guard the heart, key to matter, whereas nerves are subservient to spirit. 8. Sole bridge between spiritual understanding and the embracement of the earthly plane is the white blood corpuscle. To work where spirit descends to matter the conditions of both planes must be met, or harmonized. 9. The sign of the bestowing hand is preserved continuously, therein lies the justification of possessions. Thru this insight is solved the most difficult problem, because the world's ruination arises chiefly from attachment to property so-called. Who can improves shall possess. To the hearth of spirit shall be directed questions as to how best; the sword of spirit shall strike any evil guile. Verily, it is profitable to do better. 10. Events have so piled up that sensitive organisms are in tremor. Nothing should be exposed under a cosmic tremor, but afterwards the sun is especially radiant. 11. There will be none without work when people turn to the spiritual path. We summon. 12. Christ bestows Grace upon the attaining ones. We see the temple beautiful and alive. There are no poor. 13. Intense attention is important. Vigilance precedes understanding.

II, ii. 1. Maitreya sends courage. Maitreya accepts the gift and feels its love. Maitreya sends blessings upon joyous labor. Walk joyously. It is delightful to Me to lead the smiling ones. Discern the lesson of light in each manifestation. Resourcefulness is a quality of My pupils. 2. You know how to reach men's hearts. One must detonate the brain, then consciousness projects forth as from a cannon. We shall not display Ourselves as We put on freshness. Let them believe there is nothing to put on. Even the trunk keys must not rattle. We shall draw the window curtains. 3. As the dust of a volcano, so countless are the spirits returning to the spirit plane. With difficulty the spirit realizes its release from matter. The spirit which speeds out, in upward striving only, can avoid the emotional plane, as the astral body is but superfluous rubbish. On Earth it is difficult to conceive of forsaking without despising. But you have the best example in the giving away of any objects. The best donor devises the best gift. The spirit nurtured by prana assimilates not blood. The seed of spirit continuously carries life on, and the balloon of nerve emanations carries the spirit into heights spiritually determined. Upon the casting off of matter, the final thought is arrow-like, determining flight direction, the rest added according to aspiration. Let us construct a rainbow conjoining the steps of spiritual ascent. 4. Death is no more than the shearing of the hair. The question of guides is answered by the familiar law of attraction and repulsion. One receives what one wishes. When men understand the usefulness is pure giving, they receive riches. If the desires of spirit are lofty, one can discover lofty forms, and in creating them contribute to perfectionment. 6. Not letter or indication but infallible spirit-knowledge guides the disciple. 7. As each understands that the spiritual way is basic, answering the World Mother's call, then each finds the gates open. Many will not be able to swallow the hot food, but the boldest will swallow the Fire of the world. 8. The Teaching is but the lifting of the theater curtain. Walk in joy! The unbroken chain has great value. I teach not to dream but to hearken to the flow of events. 9. By means of memory I cannot penetrate within the sun's boundaries, but consciousness opens the gates. Consciousness grows into one's whole being as engulfing flame. Wherein lies Our strength in experiment? In the solar consciousness, poured out as prana. Above the stratum of earthly thoughts stream the currents of solar wisdom, the great preordained Teaching. 11. A teacher is one who walks firmly upon earth.

II, iii. 1. Song brings health and blossoms heal wounds. Color and sound are Our repast. 2. It is important to understand the rhythm of the tide: now the lofty joy of understanding, now destruction. 3. Not visions but consciousness is important. Everyone inescapably bears in his bosom scales impossible to cheat. 4. People can now understand as a universal the wondrous renewing potential. One should bring to oneself the best deed. 5. Pay attention to the silvery thread connecting one in spirit with the spirit of the Guide and extending its silvery sway up to the ruler of the planet. The greatness of Cosmos precludes scrutiny; it overwhelms and exalts. 8. Not a spectator of worlds is man but a conscious coworker; his way lies not thru puddles but thru the radiance of the spheres. Why search for Light when one should attune? The spirit know it is accessible to him and predestined for him. The ladder of Hierarchy rests on earth and merges in heavenly spheres. 10. One must repeatedly enwrap oneself. 12. Utmost tranquility is needed during this transition period. The organism must be assisted every moment to fortify itself anew. 13. Ask yourself "What does the spirit wish?" It is important to act directly, to grasp the spirit-knowledge. 14. The symbol of spirit-knowledge is a flower; the command of the will is symbolized by sword and arrow. Command can be communicated from outside by a swift sending. Spirit-knowledge blossoms from within at its predestined hour. How assist the flower? Place it in a quiet spot, give it sunlight, forbid anyone to touch and pluck the leaves. Without spirit-knowledge one cannot raise to its height the knowledge predestined for mankind. 15. It is wise to outlive certain incarnations by sojourn as "a flower". The path of beauty shortens the road. 16. Only in renunciation by spirit and upon earth do you attain the manifestation of light and truth. Inexhaustible the Source! 17. Resolve to act calmly, bearing in mind that Our spring flows thru you incessantly. We rejoice, measuring the growth of your aura's flower. This is Our Garden. Beyond bounded vistas Light unites hearts. 18. Now, when the continuity of the chain twixt earth and heavens must be forged, Unity rays forth in various planes. The vortical gulf of rotation of the planets attracts particles of spirit, and higher reality flashes into the windows. The most powerful seers have been women, the first requisite for their protection being quietude. 19. Gautama offers: "All is for all forever. Note fourfold: containment, fearlessness, nearness, righteousness." In nearness that which has been begins to crumble, as in a whirlwind. Remember that during this period, not just the Guru but the whole Brotherhood watches. 20. Absolutely all initiates of the mysteries agree that highest harmony generates illumination. Therefore thinking is anointed symbolically as link of heaven and earth. Above conventionality knowledge diffuses in the air. Erect a lightning-rod and attract the heavenly arrow. The whole future is so based, with its difficulties.
